Many thanks to the Chapter for your ongoing support and all the input and energy you’ve contributed this year. As incoming Chapter President, I hope for a year of positive transitions and improved communications. Our June Awards Banquet was a wonderful event. Special thanks go to Paulette Salisbury for organizing a beautiful venue and an excellent meal at Sens. Linda Stansen did a great job of preparing the awards and helping John Sellen to present them in his inimitable fashion. I’d like to add my personal thanks to all of you who helped out throughout the year on many projects, large and small.

Our July Presentation is a joint meeting of the San Francisco and Santa Clara Valley Chapters, in partnership with DBIA, the Design/Build Institute of America. We’ll be meeting at the project “big room” at the San Francisco Airport. This project is an example of Progressive Design/Build, and the panel of speakers will provide their perspectives as Owner, Builder, and the design team:

Geoffrey Neumayr, Deputy Airport Director
Design & Construction, San Francisco International Airport

Todd Temple, Operations Manager
Hensel Phelps

Bill Andrews, PE, SE, SECB, Principal/Structures, Managing Director
Walter P. Moore

Susan Cheek, Associate/Architectual Project Manager
Fentress Architects

Judy Mosqueda, Director of Project Management
for San Francisco International Airport

We look forward to a thought-provoking evening in good company.

We’re now using Constant Contact to announce events and manage registration. This system is much easier to manage than our old cvent platform, and this is important to all of us. One of our ongoing tasks is to improve Chapter communications. We think that making these monthly tasks simpler and more easily managed will help us keep you better informed. Many thanks to Vivian Volz, who has patiently and knowledgeably helped us evaluate the options – and to Edwin Essary, who has bravely experimented with the new system! Please take a moment to check your contact information at . (Remember to log in using your National user ID and password!) You can help us communicate better with you by making sure your contact information is current. Please drop me an e-mail if you would like us to update the Constant Contact database.

Summer Vacation – no August Meeting. We look forward to seeing you in September!
